  8. Getting Help if You Need It

1. Welcome to the PurePoint Golf Apprentice Program
This instruction manual is to help all of our members utilize every feature of the newly redesigned Apprentice Program. We’ve added a lot of functionality and we want to make sure that none of our members are left behind. Hopefully this manual will answer any and all questions you have on the new Apprentice Program design. If it doesn’t, please don’t hesitate to contact us at help@purepointgolf.com or community@purepointgolf.com.
Your introduction to the new Apprentice Program starts with a look at the login page.
membersite-home.jpg
Use the login form on the home page to login to the Apprentice Program. Use the username and password that you entered when you signed up.

2. Today I would like to…
The new Apprentice Program has a new home page. The new home page lists simply “Today I would like to…” where you can choose from the simple list of the normal member activities.
membersite-id-like-to.jpg
You can choose to go to the Lessons area, read posts in the forum, enter stats in the Stat Tracker area, search for members in the member directory, read other members blogs or post items to your own, download the Swing Analyzer software, or manage your account.

3. My Desktop
The new Apprentice Program also has a “Desktop” page where you can upload pictures to your profile, add or edit information to your profile, view your current lessons and more.
membersite-desktop.jpg
The desktop also lists upcoming Events, your contacts, and more.
This is a great home base to start from in the Apprentice Program.

4. Lessons
The Lessons section is broken up into several areas. You can view all available lessons, your current lesson, your current lesson month, available teleseminars, and more. You can search through the available lessons to find specific lessons and videos.
membersite-lessons.jpg

The main lessons page lists all of your available lessons. To view a specific lesson, click on the Month name to expand the month and click the individual week links to view each week’s individual lessons.

B: Current Lesson
Click the Current Lesson link in the sub-navigation bar to go to your current lesson. This is the most recent lesson available to you in the Apprentice Program.
membersite-current-lesson.jpg

C: Current Month
If you would like to view the month of lessons in the Apprentice Program that you’re currently in, you can click the Current Month link in the sub-navigation bar. This will list all of the available lessons in your most recent month of lessons in the Apprentice Program.
membersite-current-month.jpg

D: Accessing the Teleseminars
Each month’s teleseminar is available to everyone in the Apprentice Program. Even if you’re on the Chipping Month, you can still listen to the teleseminar from the Full Swing or Driver months just by accessing the teleseminar page.
Click the Teleseminars link in the sub-navigation bar and a list of all available teleseminars will be shown. Then click the name of the teleseminar you would like to listen to to open that teleseminar’s information. You can then either play the teleseminar’s MP3 file through the flash plugin in your browser or download it to your computer and listen to it whenever you’d like.
Please remember that teleseminars are AUDIO ONLY. There is no video component to the teleseminars.

5. Members Only Forum
The Apprentice Program Members Only Forum is an excellent place to share your thoughts, information, and questions with other Apprentice members. You can post any questions you have on the Forum and our Head Teaching Pro, Bobby Eldridge, will be happy to answer them – usually within 24 hours.
A: Forum Home Page
The Members Only Forum home page allows you to access any of the topics being covered in the fourm. You can view Announcements from PurePoint Golf, Introduce Yourself to the forum members, ask general Golf Questions, ask questions for the upcoming Teleseminar, Chipping, Pitching, Full Swing, Putting and more.

B: Accessing a Forum
If you’d like to access one of the specific forums, just click the name of the forum on the forum home page. You will then be taken to all of the threads on that topic.
membersite-forum-forum.jpg
Some good terms to know:
Forum: A large group of topics or threads all on one subject.
Topic or Thread: Topics and threads are synonymous. The both mean a single string of posts on one question or topic.
Post: Each individual block of text that’s been added to the topic.

C: Accessing a Post
To read a specific post in a topic, click on the topic name and scroll down to the post you would like to leave. You can add a post by clicking the “Reply to Post” button. You will then be taken to a form where you can type in your post and it will be added to the forum topic.

D: Adding a New Topic
Add a topic in the forum is easy. Just click the name of the forum that best fits your question (if your questions is about the full swing, then you should add your topic to the Full Swing forum), and click the “New Topic” button to the upper left of the forum page. (See the image under 5-B to find the button.)
IMPORTANT: You MUST add a subject line to your topic. Think of the subject as a title to your question or topic.

6. Stat Tracker
The Stat Tracker is mostly unchanged from previous versions of the Apprentice Program. You can still add stats from every round you play and track your vital statistics like greens in regulation, fairways hit, number of putts, drive distances, etc.
A: Stat Tracker Home Page
The Stat Tracker home page let’s you access all portions of the Stat Tracker program. You can view your stats, add stats, add a course and more.
membersite-stats-home.jpg

B: Adding Stats
Click the Add a Round link in either the sub-navigation bar or in the right hand sidebar to add a new round of golf to your stats. When you get to the Add a Round page, you need to choose whether you played an 18 hole round or a 9 hole round.
Then select the course you played your round at. If you don’t see the course you played, click the Add a Course link (see the next step for more information).
Then just fill in your score on each hole and if you want to you can add: number of putts, fairway hit, sand trap, penalty stroke, and drive distance. When you’re finished adding the stats, click the Calculate Score button to calculate your score. Then review the calculations and click the Confirm Score button to finish the process.
membersite-add-stats.jpg
C: Adding a Course
To add a course, you can click the Add / Edit Courses link from the sub-navigation bar or in the right hand sidebar. When you add a course, you can choose to add it as a 9 hole course or an 18 hole course. You can add the course information, such as address and phone number, but also the hole information such as par and length. Under the comments section, we would suggest you add what set of tees the distances added are for (Blue, Red, White, etc.).
