Golf DVD

Prior to the 1990s there was no such thing as golf dvd’s.  There where, however, VHS tapes that were sold.  Compared to today’s dvd’s the VHS format was second rate.  With the new dvd’s the portability factor is very important notwithstanding the fact that there is much more picture detail and clarity.  Other than the dvd movie market, golf dvd sales are right behind.  The reason is that there is not a golfer in the world that would not want to lower their scores and
play better golf.

A golf dvd is probably one of the best investments you can make as an amateur golfer.  The reason for it is, compared to private lessons, a golf dvd can be seen over and over again.  Stop action can also be used so you can examine the area of your swing you may be having difficulty with, slow motion is also a useful tool to help you determine where improvement
is needed.

It’s always interesting to invite some golfing friends to stop by and watch a golf dvd, this way you can trade ideas about exactly what you are seeing on the dvd.  It can also be helpful, if you are in the process of taking private lessons, to present any questions you have about the dvd to your instructor to get his or her opinion.

A golf dvd isn’t always about instructions.  There are some that examine the U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf.  Others may cover topics such as etiquette.  And yet others may cover the subject of golf course design.  Go to any online web-site that deals with golf dvd’s and examine the tremendous amount of titles that are in stock.  There are titles on just about every imaginable golf topic.

I have found that watching a golf dvd prior to playing a round of golf has been helpful.  Most of the time these video’s tend to put you in a positive frame of mind and there is no doubt that a positive frame of mind will do wonders for your golf game.

One of the best golf dvd series I have seen was the Bobby Eldridge instructional program.  Eldridge developed the PurePoint Golf teaching course which he manages at PurePoint Golf in Scottsdale, AZ.  The program covers
every aspect of the game including driving, sand play, chipping, pitching, putting and many other topics.
