Divots

Am I doing something wrong if I dont make a divot after striking the golf ball? I seem to hit the ball clean or initiate a divot just before striking the ball.

I will give you a tip that will help you as soon as you get to the practice facility...after you address the golf ball pick out a blade of grass that is on the hole side of your golf ball...NOT a blade of grass behind the ball but a blade in front of the ball and try and hit that blade of grass.
