driver clubhead on ground or hover?

I would assume most people like to rest the driver on the ground
in the initial setup. But I also heard that it may be better
to hover the driver off the ground before beginning the backswing. Is this more of a personal preference than anything?

It is a personal preference however if you hold in the air it will help you turn more in the backswing.
