Mike Weir's variation of "The Simple Golf Swing"

Is Mike Weir of the PGA using a variation of the "Simple Golf Swing?" His recent swing is looking more horizontal these days, not to mention he doesn't appear to be as long on his backswing. Is this a recent adjustment or just my recent observation?
