Hi Bobby . My question is on how to set up a sucessful practice,I feel this is the best way to improve. Than just playing every day and shooting the same score.I usally start with some streching, and than I would like to know what to do after that to have a rewarding and meaning full practice and not wast a bunch of time pounding the driver all over the range . Thanks Bobby

I have a very consistent routine that I have used for years. I also have a routine if I want to work on something specific.

Here goes my normal routine.

#1 Focus on the entire game.

#2 I allow myself one swing thought with the full swing.
One swing thought with chipping and pit<a href=http://www.purepointgolf.com/instruction-golf-swing-setup-chin>chin</a>g.
One swing thought in the bunker and one swing thought with putting.

#3 For every hour I spend on the golf course I spend two hours on the practice facility. I have done this for 25 years and there are no options.
The only time I change this pattern is if I am playing in a tournament.

#4 I have always spent twice as much time in the short game as the full swing.

#5 Here is my routine:
a. 30 minutes putting. 3 balls from 3-6-9-12 feet. I make three, 3 foot putts then move to 6 feet etc. 15 minutes of putting 30-50 footers for touch.
b. 60 minutes chipping, pit<a href=http://www.purepointgolf.com/instruction-golf-swing-setup-chin>chin</a>g and bunker. Twenty minutes each.
c. 60 minutes, 3 balls with pw, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 5wood, 3 wood, and driver.
d. a. and b. again. One forty five session.
This is a two hour and forty five minute practice session.

Two more things. First of all I always mix up my routine. I putt then full swing then chip etc. REMEMBER you have eight hours of practice between rounds of golf. I do not care if it takes me a month to get the eight hours in, I DO NOT PLAY ANOTHER ROUND OF GOLF UNTIL I HAVE FINISHED THAT SESSION...

Let me know if this helps.
