right hand over left

the right hand over the left should be a natural occurrence but I am having trouble making it happen. How can I insure that it does happen?

The next time out I want you to try this. Hold the golf club up so the shaft is level to the ground. (chest high) Make some swings, full swings. See how easy it is? After you do this 10 times then lower the shaft two inches. After you do this 10 times lower the shaft two inches. Continue until you sole the club to the ground.

The purpose of the drill is cross the right over the left...once you sole it and put a golf ball on the ground with ob left and water right-it becomes a new game.
