Long Irons!

Hi Bobby...I play everyday of my life and do pretty well at everything but my Long Irons. Why can't I hit a long iron? I hit all clubs straight and right down the middle, driver to but No distance at all with any of my irons..We'll I said any but my Wedges and through 8 iron are pretty good but I can hit my 7 as long as I do my 3 Iron. Something is wrong and I can't find out what it is. Question, do I use the same swing for my 6 through 3 irons as I do my Wedges??? How can I add some real good Distance to my long irons? Is definetly great to go out and play every day. I wish someday I could.

Many things can be preventing you from hitting a long iron. I for one don't waste too much time (if any) on them. I replaced all my long irons with hybrids. I only play down to a six iron, from there is a 5, 4 & 3 hybrid. There so much easier to hit! I tell you more I have a 6 hybrid too, but I guess that just takes the cake and I don't carry it anymore. If you noticed, most of the modern maximum gave improvements sets the 3,4 and 5 are hybrids. i.e. callaway Big Berttha, adams, clevelands and then some....

If I dind't quite persuade you, maybe I'll come back and try to give you my take on why you might not be crushing those long irons.
