Thread: Hooking

    Question Hooking

I hook the ball with my 4-5-6 irons and hit them very low. They go the right distance but left. What should I do to correct this.

    Default Hey John

My nic-name is Horrible-Hooker , so I KNOW what you are going
through. The only way I am able to keep the ball on the
fairway, is to try to resolve it at address.
Now, it is NOT the recommended way, but this is what works
    for me:
At address, just before take-away "trigger", I drop my
RIGHT foot straight back by 1/2 foot-length. That is , I
slide my right foot in it's foot-print so the TOE is where
my mid-foot WAS. This is straight back AWAY from the
parellel "foot-aiming-line". This aims my shoulders to the
RIGHT of my target. I am sure this is NOT a recommended way
to correct a HOOK = BUT - it works for me. I am sure it
produces a LOT of negative things, but with very limited funds,
a teaching-Pro is out of reach for now$$$. I still play the
ball in the middle of my stance, but my shoulders are pointed
to the RIGHT of my intended target-line. Good luck.

#1 No knuckles showing on left hand at address
#2 Hold on TWICE as tight as normal with left hand
#3 Turn the left hip faster in downswing
LET me know how it went.

hi i used to always suffer from a hook or a block
if your like me and sufferer from either 1 or the other
it is usually because at impact you are approaching the ball from to much on the inside so you flip your hands over to try rescue you from blocking it

to recitfy this you can either stand more closed and try to come over the top this will make it so you are more likely to cut the ball

or you can hold on your back foot and spin to the left this will stop you from getting ahead of the ball so stop from getiing 'trapped' and agian flipping your hands over so you hook.

try these they should help you.
