Hi,
I have been playing very well as of late, about a 6 handicap, 61 years of age…
Recently started shanking wedges and don’t know why ?
My set up/ball position is pretty standard. I usually draw my irons and have a slight fade with my woods..
What’s your experience why a good golfer would start having this problem?
Any help would be appreciated..

After you shank does your divot go left or right?

it goes to the right
I can relate to this gentleman's (Charlie) problem. I'm an 8 handicap and have been hitting the ball quite well. ....All of a sudden - Bam! The "S" hits me! It starts when I'm practicing full wedge shots, then seeps into all irons. I have beautiful, fluid swing but now I can't even play a round of golf - heck! I can barely hot the ball at the driving range. When I don't "S" I pull everything. I don't know what to do. By the way, I normally draw my woods and long irons. What can I do?
You are sure your DIVOT goes to the right after you shank the ball. This is a very difficult shank to fix. Most divots go LEFT after a shank....Here we go. I want you to go to a lie on your practice facility where you can hit some pitch shots. I want you to hit some with the ball BELOW your feet. BALL BELOW your feet, not level not ABOVE your feet....
Hit 50 shots and let me know what happened....I will look forward to hearing from you.

What if the divot goes to the left? Would you practice shots above your feet?
No, the opposite....ball above your feet.

bobby,
A shank has recently come into my game - usually with the ball teed up, using a mid to long iron .
I'm 13 h'cap and have been working on my swing for the last 6 weeks or so since receiving your full swing DVD (very good). Divots aim left.
Can you offer a drill to remove this trick shot from my repertoire.
I would be most grateful. Keep up the good work.
