    Default Beginning the downswing

I have a 4 index and have played for 40 years. My swing problem is that on my downswing my head moves forward which creates inconsistency in the swing and contact. This seems to happen most often when I am trying to generate extra power. If my hands don't catch up I will tend to push the ball to the right. Do you have any drills or ideas that will help me overcome this head and upper body sliding that I have done for years?

Have you ever tried hitting balls with your feet together. Make sure that both heels and knees are touching each other. It will take a few times for you to feel this work. You must make your normal length and speed swing. Let me know if this helps.

Try this next, hit some balls with your right heel on the ground at impact. Do not let your right heel come up until after the clubhead has made contact with the golf ball.
