Default Power in the golf swing

    David & Bob
I would like to know where does power come from in the golf swing. Is it the hips, legs etc.

To generate clubhead speed you suggested incresing strength. Specifically which areas require strenghtening.

    Regards

I think clubhead speed comes from the speed of the arms, yes the lower body plays a role however I think you should start by working up some arm speed.

How do you do that? You can start by hitting balls with your feet and knees touching each other. This will train you on using your arms more. Make sure you make normal golf swings, no compensations.

The next thing you could do is buy a speed stik or hittable driver. They are both very good for building speed in the swing.

Do you recommend any golf aids that help correct swing paths? An aid that allows me to practice over and over to bring it out to the course?

Try this. Lay a club aiming where you want the golf ball to travel. Now, lay a towel down closer to the ball (inside the club line). Make the towel an arc, curve the towel and hit some balls near the towel. Let me know if this helps.
