    Default The dreaded slice

Hi Bobby, I think I have discovered one of the reasons for my slicing on the drive. (using a 3 wood as I can-not hit off the tee with big bertha, it never travels far and always goes right) It felt like my wrists were twisting open on impact with the ball, however when I hit the ground before impact with the ball I always hit a perfectly straight shot. ??

Can you possibly indicate what I am doing wrong.

The ground straightens the face out. Try this the next time out. Lift the club 2 or 3 inches off of the ground before you start the backswing, this will allow the clubface to close in the downswing. Let me know if this helped.

Default Try to keep your elbow in

Try to keep your elbow in when your in your downswing. I had a similar problem for a while. Now I try to focus on keeping my elbow close to my body on the downswing. If you let your elbow go outside your body too far, you will trace an outside-in plane. Outside of the plane to the inside. This puts a spin on the ball and causes it to slice.
