    Default Bunker Shots

Bobby, I have your 4 dvds and find them most helpful. The short game dvd is so good but with one exception; I cannot master your standard bunker shot. Your advice is to play the ball off the left heel - lay the club handle forward and place some 70% of your weight on the left side (as with the chip and pitch shots) then swing the sand iron as with a normal mid-iron.
I do this to the letter and nearly always hit the shot fat ie take too much sand. This leaves the ball in the trap simply because it does not get enough height to make the green.
Do you have any idea what I might be doing wrong ? Until I solve this problem I have reverted to my old method of playing the ball off the middle of the stance and taking the club round and up high befre dropping it into the sand some two inches or so behind the ball !
    Thanks
    Pete Gerdes

If you continue to hit your bunker shots fat, make sure you are turning thru during the downswing...ok, right heel in the air and belt buckle on target...please let me know if this helps
