Hi Bobby,
I was watching the full swing DVD and came across what I felt to be an inconsistency. During the backswing portion of the video you bring your left arm back to parallel and talk about it feeling like a half swing, which it does. I watch your swing and you take your left arm quite a bit past parallel and your elbow comes untucked a bit. Which swing is the one I am supposed to practice? Not a critic, I just want to get this thing right a play some better golf. Thanks.

Hi John,
Its a very good question, I had noticed the same thing
Geoff
Keeping the right elbow is a guide. It is not written in stone. What do you mean I bring my left arm PAST parallel. Do you mean in the backswing?
Yes, in the backswing. On the DVD you talk about keeping your left arm long and if you can get to this point( left arm parallel with the ground) you are in perfect position. You say this may feel like half a swing, which it does. David's book also advocates this position. When you take your full swing your arm goes past the parallel position. I prefer your actual swing to the one being taught. I want to know which one is correct so I don't waste any more time practicing something else. Thanks.

Hello.....
John Allen
If you can turn the shoulders level and swing the arms around and up you do not have to worry if the left arm is parallel or not.
Thank you.

Again, sorry it took so long. I had to go back and watch the dvd. I was confused when you said "I prefer your actual swing to the one being taught.
