I live in Florida but last week I was I'm visiting family in Arizona. I played a round of golf at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon (Canyon Course) in Tucson. The course was in terrific shape and the views were spectacular. I played well but had a problem with the long distance wedges (30-100 yards out from the green). Are the mechanics different for these types of shots compared to chipping and pitching? Do you plan to devote a month of lessons to hitting the long distance wedges?
Long distance wedges has nothing to do with chipping and pitching method. When you are faced with a long distance wedge shot, it is like a five iron shot. You have to use your full swing.
Do not try and mix the two.
