Default 9.5 stiff shaft driver vs. 10.5 reg shaf driver

i'm 59 yrs. old, recently got a tatlor made 9.5 stiff shaft driver. i can't seem to get it up- hitting "worm-burners". my old calloway 460 big bertha, at 10.5 degrees and regular shaft does just well. i'm hesitant to "mess" with adjusting the heighth of how high i tee the ball. am thinking, anyway of going to regular shafted irons as wel, as my swing has slowed down considerably since having total knee replacement surgery. i'm left-handed, surgery was on right(lead) knee. ii'm thinking of returning "burner" driver and trading up to a new set of regular shaft clubs. at what point in a middle-aged golfers life does he make the decision to switch from stiff shaft to regular shaft? i'm 6'3", get plenty of distance, but since knee surgery am less accurate. help!
