Putting is of course very individual.Having said that if you look at the hole and not the putter head as you strike the ball can this method if practiced work as well as the conventional method. If so what ESPECIALLY
would you have to watch out for over and above regular requirements e.g. steady head, no break down of leading wrist etc. |

When I was a young boy my mom used to have us practice putting, LOOKING at the hole. I really don't know if there is a better way to practice "FEEL." If you think about it, a baseball pitcher looks at there target. A football quarterback looks at their target, a bowler looks at their target, but we don't.
Start looking at the hole if you are struggling with distance. And do it TODAY!!! |

It just does not seem right to not watch the ball. If you have difficulties judging the distance of a putt walk to behind the cup and count the paces; this, I think informs your sub-conscious of how hard you need to strike the ball.

I have been putting looking at the hole for 1 year now. I am able to feel the speed & see the line all without moving my head. It has worked for me.
