RE: Difficult time Starting Backswing

QUESTION:
Hi David,

First, thank you for all the great info. I have one quick question for now: I have no trouble getting to my address position and I am feeling good about getting the drift of the Simple Swing Theory. I am, however, having trouble starting the actual motion of my back swing. For some reason I can't get a "ready to start my back swing feeling". It seems like I get "Stuck" just before I start my back swing. Is this unusual and do you have a tip for me to overcome this?

Thank You in advance,
Dave Buckenheimer

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…Maybe the computer is running with too much info. Download it. Ready, go thru your routine, take a deep breath and count to 3 then hit it. If that doesn't work, back away and do it again. Count to 3 and hit it. Do not stand around or your will really struggle with this…let me know if this helped.

RE: Keeping Left Elbow Straight

QUESTION:
David,

I purchased the Simple Golf Swing in April 2006. While I have from time to time tried the method set out in the instructional PDF file, I haven't found it easy to implement. In fact it feels quite alien not to take a full swing. Regardless, my new year's resolution is to go back and try again.

While playing a few games this week I noticed that my left elbow always bends, and no matter how hard I try (e.g. a shorter backswing) my left elbow still breaks. I have noticed that having the straight left elbow is a feature of a good golfers swing. So is there a trick or drill I could use to help keep my left elbow straight?

Regards, and all the best for 2007.

RE: Question

QUESTION:
In reference to hitting irons you talk about flipping the wrist over top of each other and with the driver you say to rotate the hands. Iis this two separate moves or are they the same?

In the papers that you sent to me it says The Backswing 1No weight shift back and away from the target. In the next section about the backswing The first fundamental of the backswing is that you should have to weight shift back and away from the target?????
Asked by Robert Clary on 2006-07-06 07:01:00

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…flipping the wrist over and rotating is the same thing, in the backswing, all you have to do is turn the right shoulder as the arms swing back. Let me know if this helped.

RE: backswing sway

QUESTION:
David,
I tried your setup and it works, however I am struggling with my entire body swaying away from the ball on the backswing making it almost impossible to return to the proper impact position. I determined this by video taping my swing and playing it back on my TV set. The shift away from the ball is almost 4 to 6 inches. How do I overcome this problem? Hope you can help.

Sincerely,
Glenn Caldwell
