RE: Re: Anthony, Download your Full Swing Bonuses

QUESTION:
Bobby,

Is there a drill that I can practice on how to make a proper divot?

Thanks
Tony
Asked by ‘Tony Hunnie on 2006-12-08 08:11:00

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail. A DIVOT is a result not a cause. If you swing too much to the left you will have a deep divot pointing left of your target. If you swing too much to the right you will have a very thin divot pointing to the right. If you swing correctly you will have a divot pointing on target.

Let me know how it goes

RE: Divot

QUESTION:
Seems like when I hit down on the ball I feel like I am taking a real divot. I pull the club back as if not to damage the turf. I can sense a slight pull back. Man this is weird. Off the tee I am good. My biggest problem is my irons within 100 yards. I need help.-Kirkland Floyd
Asked by Kirkland Floyd on 2007-01-09 09:41:00

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…you don’t have to hit down on your wedge shots. Make sure you follow thru low, but you do not have to take a deep divot.

RE: Divots

QUESTION:
Thank you for the instructional material concerning divots. My problem is that I cannot make a divot. I can hit beautiful straight shots with my irons from LW through 4 iron IF I USE A TEE. When I put the ball on the ground, the shots start curving left and right. I cannot take a divot no matter how hard I try. When I hit off a tee, I can use the same tee over and over because I never get close enough to the ground to touch the tee. Can you please give me some idea of how to correct this problem? Thanks.

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…bend over an inch or two at address. THEN, make sure you swing down and take some grass with the downswing...POSTURE OVER at ADDRESS.

RE: Re: James, Driver Special Report

QUESTION:
David,

I have been watching the DVD's over and over and it has really made a big improvement in my game. The biggest problem in my swing when using any of the irons is that I am not hitting it at the proper height. I am happy with the direction of my ball but I always hit the ball high. I seldom produce divots in my shots. What is wrong with my swing and how can I correct this fault? Thanks a lot.

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…if you want to hit your irons lower, move the ball back in your stance two inches. Divots are a result, not a cause. The steeper the club swings in the downswing the deeper your divot will be.
