RE: Consistent Putting
QUESTION:
Hello Bobby,
Lately my putting has not been very consistent. I have not been able to keep the ball from hopping off the club. I want to roll the ball and I can sometimes, but not all the time. Whenever the ball hops off the club I leave it short. Please help.

Thanks for your e-mail…try this the next time out. Take you putter back LOWER to the ground in the backswing and LOWER to the ground in the follow thru...let me know if this helped.

RE: Re: Further Report Comments
QUESTION:
Re my comments - any thoughts on those testy 3 to 4 foot putts which I mentioned? If I could capture them I reckon my handicap could be in the region of 11 or 12 by the end of 2007, as the Full Swing DVD tips have really transformed my ball striking and consistency.

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…try this for the next four rounds…every time you have a putt under 4 feet, take the break out of the putt. Do not play any break (ok if it is obvious)…now look at the back of the cup and then at the ball. Make sure you hit your putt to the back of the cup every time…straight and firm.

RE: good result
QUESTION:
Dear Bobby,
I am practicing putting in an indoor golf facility (using the new grip : left hand low and 1:2 ratio , wow.. I can drain many 20, 30 feet putts - so amazing. Thanks a zillion!
For uphill putt, sometime I tend to putt "FAT"( my arm seems a bit long.., I hit the ground first... How do I prevent this from happening?)
When I putt, I try to maintain 2 arms and shoulder as a 1 unit: triangle. The first thing I move is my shoulder. Is it what you do to??

Lisa
Asked by Lisa Tran on 2007-01-17 14:02:00
ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail. Lisa a couple of things…the putter head should go straight back and straight through. However, on a long 30 foot putt, uphill on slow greens yes there is a SLIGHT arc. Two reasons why you hit fat. #1 you might ARC too much inside in the backswing. #2 Lift your chin up an inch or two at address…let me know if this helped.

RE: RE: Neil, Driver Special Report
QUESTION:
Good day Bobby....
My handicap is one. I am playing very good golf at this moment, hitting a lot of greens, but my short putting is not up to standard..........can you give me advance on this please? My big problem is that I am not positive enough to go for the puts. I try to die the puts into the hole.........if I go for a put and miss, then I worry about the return. The other thing is, are you selling second hand Pro VX balls and new Pro VX balls? If you do, I want to order.........can u provide me with the banking details?
Thanks
Asked by Jacobs NEIL on 2007-03-08 14:40:00
ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…two things, #1 stop playing any break from 4 feet and #2 try and hit every putt so if you missed it would roll six inches past the cup…FIRM it up a bit..no on the PROV..sorry

RE: Re: Phil - PurePoint Putting Pro Newsletter #1
QUESTION:
Hi Bobby, Thank you for your excellent Putting Performance DVD.
The one problem I have is when I line the ball with a line on it towards my target line, when I look down with a square putter and stance my eyes tell me it's toward the right a lot and makes feel I have to cut my stroke to get it on line. Any help would be greatly received.
Thank you,
Phil Laret

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…have you tried intermediate aiming. Ok, here we go, you have a 20 foot putt that breaks right to left 2 feet. Pick out a spot on the green anywhere from 1 foot to 3 feet in front of you on your intended line you want the ball to travel on. I think this might help you with your aiming. Let me know.

RE: RE: Steve, Putting, and Sand Play Advice
QUESTION:
Hi David,
Thank you for the tip on putting but what do think about NOT hitting the ball hard enough to go past the hole at all?
My thoughts are that if you do hit hard enough that if it misses it goes about 12" past, means that lip outs will occur more often if you just off the line, as the pall still has enough energy to move forward.
By hitting the ball to not go past the hole at all, lip ins will occur if you just off the line and save par or create birdies.
If you're just short of the hole, the line the ball is on is the line to take when finishing off the putt and not the reverse line of what you just saw.
The hole will also be a larger target, instead of being just over 4" it becomes just over 6", as balls will fall in from the edge of the hole more often.

ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…I believe there are two types of putters, BOLD putters and LAG putters. Some like to take the break out of putts and others like to ease on up there. I believe it is a very difficult thing to change from one to the other.

RE: Stroke length
QUESTION:
Dear Bobby,
Could you explain what the purpose is of NOT equal stroke in putting (1 back and 2 forward)? I do believe this method is better than 1 to 1.
It is quite hard to do 1:2 one.
Regards,
Lisa
Asked by Lisa Tran on 2007-01-08 16:43:00
ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…if you can do equal that is great…the 1-2 gives you acceleration in the downswing…the stroke to stay away from is 2-1…1-2 gives the ball a firmer hit at impact

RE: Re: Thomas, Practice Your Putting Touch
QUESTION:
How close to the line must the putt be without going over the line?
I could hit each putt one foot and not go over the line. Seems to me there should be a minimum distance that the putt is stroked.

Asked by Thomas Dragon on 2006-11-16 14:44:00
ANSWER:
Thanks for your e-mail…It is just an exercise. If you come up one, two or three inches that is great. You are only trying to develop some touch. If you are consistently three inches short from 20 feet, that is great. Consistency is the name of the game

RE: Tips
QUESTION:
Hi David.
Thank you for your continued support & tips. I have been starting to strike the ball straighter & cleaner leading to being on the fairway more often.
If I’m being honest my biggest flaw is putting. My putts are generally short. I never feel comfortable over the putt - any tips?
Once again thanks for all your help & advice
