Alter your swing to compensate for the grass-grab. Even the top pros couldn’t hit from deep rough using their normal swing. And neither could you.
Why greed isn’t good. And why the deep rough is no place to be a hero.
How to get the loft you need to get the heck out of there.

The result? You can expect more solid shots with greater distance if you follow my instructions.

How to hit into the wind.

If you don’t think wind can be a factor in your game, just remember what it did to Paul Goydos at the 2008 Players. Or how it blew Phil Mickelson off the leader board in the same tournament.

And even though the wind may not be a big deal where you play, you never know when you might be playing in a different part of the world. Or if this crazy weather we’ve been having will change conditions where you usually play.
You need to know this shot. I’ll make sure you do.

How to hit downwind.

The Trouble Shots DVD Screenshot Maybe you love it when the wind is at your back. A lot of golfers do because they think the wind will give them a little extra distance.

Well, it will. But it can also take your ball someplace you don’t want it to go. That jungle over to your right, for instance.

I’ll show you how to add extra control to the ball so it goes straight.

How to avoid choosing the wrong club. It’s the most common mistake amateurs make and it can cost you big time.
How to modify your swing to take maximum advantage of the wind. Your regular swing won’t help you here.
How to keep the ball from running past where you want it to stop.
What you want the ball to do in a downwind situation. It’s the exact opposite of hitting into the wind.

The result? You’ll gain more height and greater control.

How to hit punch shots.

I’m convinced the reason so many amateurs are bad at these is because they never practice them. Then when they have to get the ball through the trees, they take out the biggest club in their bag and try to fly it out.

Maybe you aren’t the average golfer and you don’t live under the trees like most do. But if you do find yourself spending a considerable amount of time in the forest, learning this shot will help you see more of the green.
I’ll help you...

Learn to stay low. Less loft is the key to the punch shot.
Modify your grip. It’s your regular grip but with an important difference.
Master the mechanics that are so important in this shot.

Using the right club is only half the solution.

Learn how to practice this shot...even if there aren’t any trees around.

Result: You’ll get better contact with the ball and send it traveling lower. That means through the branches and not against the tree trunk.

How to hit flop shots.

Most amateurs love these things. They must; they seem to want to try and flop everything.

But not every short shot should be a flop. It’s really difficult from the rough or from a hard pan lie.

And most of the time, it just plain doesn’t work. The ground is much safer than the air and that’s something most high handicap golfers never learn.

I’ll teach you a flop shot that actually gets the ball where it’s supposed to go and keeps it from running once it gets there. But that’s not all you’ll learn...

You’ll learn when to flop and when to stop and think it over.
You’ll learn how to add loft to your flop shots. Without sacrificing accuracy.
I’ll show you the club to use and the technique that goes with it.
I’ll teach you how to modify your swing. It’s a subtle change but it makes all the difference between a good flop and one to try to forget.

What that will do is add loft to your flops. Plus, you’ll have softer landings. And that means your ball won’t run forever once it lands.

How to hit from uneven lies.

I never played on a course that was as flat as a pancake and never expect to. Every course I’ve ever seen has little hills and valleys.

So unless you play in a parking lot, you need to know how to hit from uneven lies.

I’ll teach you how to handle the big four in uneven lies: when the ball is above your feet, when it’s below them, when the ball is uphill and when it’s downhill.

I give each lie its own special segment. Because each one is a different situation.

How to hit like you’re on level ground – even if you’re halfway up a hillside. (The secret? Your shoulders.)
The technique to use for each lie. It’s different for each one.

Why so much depends on your club face. And what to do about it.

"Best Round of the Year. . . Best Round of Pars Ever."

I stood on the Tee Sat. afternoon and all the hints you talked about kept on popping up in by head ( pull, push, slice and hook )

I had the best round of the year and had the best run of pars ever - 7 in a row on the back nine. Only 1 drop on 17 and ending with a birdie at the last hole.

It was also the best in driving I had this year in 12 out of 14 Fairways. (5/7 first nine and 7/7 back nine) The setup helped and made sense. I used the Iron setup with the driver before . The first 2 Fairways were missed with a bit of a hook but once I made the corrections mentally it went better. This was my lowest score for the last 2 years. 38 front nine and 36 back nine ( needless to say I won the competition on a net 66 from a 8 handicap).

Thanks for the tips and instruction.

Now it is up to me to try and keep it together and try to make my goal I set to myself to make the scratch league team for next year.
